Yves Dormoy

Yves Dormoy and Rodolphe Burger have known each other since the 1980s in Strasbourg practicing multiple formations in both jazz and rock. The project Palentarium, created at the Cité des Sciences of Paris in September 2003, sealed their artistic reunion around an unprecedented proposal: computer and clarinet or saxaphone (Dormoy) and electric guitar and voice (Burger). They have performed regularly in concert thereafter, sometimes accompanied by images of Eric Vernhes or Ewen Chardronnet at the National Theatre of Montreuil, Mulhouse Jazz Festival, International Jazz Festival of Montreal, Festival of Avignon, Nancy Jazz Pulsations, Banlieues Bleues, Bandits-Mages festival, planetarium Poitiers, touring Japan, Uzbekistan, et cetera) They also composed all of the music for the Palais des Images du Pass in Mons, Belgium, and the French pavillion at the 2005 World Expo in Aichi, Japan.

The musicians Yves Dormoy and Rodolphe Burger have worked together since the 1980s in Strasbourg, France, with various forms from jazz to rock. The Planetarium project, the result of work at the Cité des Sciences in Paris in September 2003, brings together their musical research around computers, clarinette, saxophone (Dormoy), electric guitar and vocals (Burger). The DVD presents two recent concerts based on this creation: 1/ Live at the Bandits-Mages Festival / Bourges 2006 / images Ewen Chardronnet. 2/ Live at the Tashkent National Conservatory / with four traditionnal Uzbek musicians.
